Final Thoughts:

Sugarlands Distilling Company, located up in the Tennessee mountains, is producing non-chill filtered cask strength rye whiskey. Their latest Batch #10 clocks in at 113.8 proof with a punch of grass and apricot shortbread cookies right on the nose. As it breathes a bit longer in the glass, more sweet vanilla and cotton candy aromas reveal themselves, before leading into delicious molasses cookies and hazelnuts on the palate. At only 3.5 years old I was certainly impressed by the flavors on this rye whiskey, that will only get better as they continue to age their stock. Also, it is really nice to see a distillery selling half-sized bottles as it offers more people a chance to try their products without committing to the price a full bottle!
