Nose:

Leather, vanilla Coke, grape Airheads, prunes, honey, molasses, toasted marshmallow, and cocoa powder.

Palate: 

Dr. Pepper, dark chocolate, subtle smoke, grape soda, roasted chestnuts, and strawberries in syrup.

Finish:

Toasted marshmallow, cloves, prunes, oak, black pepper, and leather.   

Final Thoughts:

A bottled in bond American Single Malt? Sign me up! This is the first whiskey in this category that I have had the chance to try, and I could not have been more pleased with the results. There is a wonderfully rich and complex nose to this single malt, with aromas of grape Airheads, leather and vanilla Coke. The palate continues with similarly rich notes, except that a subtle smoke finds its way into the mix. Since opening this bottle, I continually return for another pour as the depth of flavor draws me back.
