Nose:

Grape Kool-Aid, super fruity (think fruit cocktail), rye grain, raisins

Palate: 

Even more grape, chocolate covered raisins, plum, followed by fruit cake and holiday spices

Finish:

Peppery heat lingers as the fruit forward notes fade away

Final Thoughts:

With Chattanooga Whiskey’s latest edition to their lineup, the Rye does not disappoint. It brings a great fruit forward profile that is very different from the traditional spicy ryes found at most other distilleries, which is driven by the high malt mash bill that Chattanooga Whiskey is known for. I might be a bit biased (Go Mocs!), but I couldn’t be happier with this one.
