Final Thoughts:
Unlike the standard Juke Joint release, B.R. Distilling recently began their single barrel program, showcasing their whiskey at cask strength. This single barrel pick comes from the Bourbon Thieves group on Instagram, and packs a 119.2 proof punch. On the nose, there are the hallmark vanilla and baking spice aromas along with hints of papaya. The palate really opens up with strong tropical fruit notes paired with a rich molasses and cream flavor that I equate to a Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pie (yum!). The whiskey lingers for a while on the finish with the introduction of some toffee, peanut brittle, and building cinnamon spice. This is a great barrel pick from the Bourbon Thieves, which explains why it sold out so fast! Fingers crossed that they pick a single barrel Riverset Rye from B.R. Distilling next!
