Final Thoughts:
The 2022 release of Pursuit United features a wheated bourbon (sourced from KY, TN, and NY) and a rye (sourced from KY and MD). Both whiskies come in at 108 proof, no-age-statement, with a minimum of 4 years since they are straight. The rye immediately hits you on the nose with a heavy dose of sweet mint and shortbread cookies, which carries over to the palate along with a touch of green apple and ginger. The finish is creamy and sweet like poundcake, rounded out by a kick of clove. Similar to the rye, the bourbon carries sweet notes throughout complimented by a bit more of a spice kick. Cracker Jacks and nutmeg on the nose with rich funnel cake on the palate, all wrapped up with toasted cinnamon raisin bread. Overall these are both solid blends from the guys at Bourbon Pursuit that are worth giving a try. If I had to pick between the two, the rye is definitely the winner given how creamy and sweet the plate is with that mint bomb!
