Triple cask finish - Oloroso sherry, PX sherry, and Cognac 

NAS - estimated around 14 years

Nose:

Powdered sugar, vanilla custard, hazelnut, sprinkles, candied pecans, 

Sugar cookies 

Palate:

Raspberry, blackberry, pumpkin pie spices, leather, and plum

Berry tart

Finish:

Long finish with lingering subtle spice, charred oak, drying oak and wine tannins 

Sherry comes through in full force here

Final Thoughts:

As someone who isn’t generally a fan of sherry finished whiskey, this one pleasantly surprised me with the sweet sugar cookie notes on the nose, and dark fruit tart coming through on the palate. This whiskey offers a complex variety of flavors and aromas, that make for a great tasting experience. On the finish, the sherry came through stronger than I would have liked, but again, that is a personal preference. For anyone who enjoys finished whiskey, especially sherry finished, this Joseph Magnus bourbon is a must try!
