Final Thoughts:

As the newest release from the Fort Hamilton Distillery, this single barrel rye sets a good tone for more products to come. Cinnamon and rye spices jump out of the glass on the initial sip, transforming into a sweet herbal tea with subtle notes of mint. This whiskey brings just enough spice on the palate that you would expect in a rye, however, the lack of complexity causes this to fade quickly. Overall, a solid rye that can stand up well in a cocktail or be enjoyed neat.
