Final Thoughts:
As with all Barrell whiskeys, batch 035 bourbon and batch 004 rye are blends of various mash bills, states, and age statements, offered at cask strength. Compared to some of the previous releases, batch 35 bourbon has a more intense spice component throughout that at times can remind you of Cinnamon Red Hots, while at other points a spicy chocolate bar. On the other hand, batch 4 rye is a mint bomb from start to finish reminiscent of pillow mints you get at a restaurant. Both releases are well constructed and bring something a bit different that fans of BCS will appreciate. Personally, I am reaching for the bourbon every time!
