Final Thoughts:

Sneaky Peat Scotch Whisky is the latest release from The House of Glunz, a Chicago-based wine merchant. This whiskey is a blended malt, referring to a blend of single malt scotch from multiple distilleries. The nose of this whisky is inviting and subtly sweet, with light smoke, salted cucumber, and cantaloupe. On the palate, the notes from the nose remain consistent, along with the introduction of dark chocolate, walnuts, and toasted pecans. The smoke increases a bit on the palate, but still fairly mild. The whiskey finishes a bit faster than I would prefer, but still with pleasant notes of sea salt and cantaloupe throughout. Overall, this whisky delivers as promised with an easy sipping scotch that brings a mild sweetness and light smoke influence. No one notes dominates the others from the nose to the finish. As I tend to gravitate towards higher proof, bold, and spicy whiskey, this is more enjoyable on a warmer day, or even paired with a mild cigar to complement the peat notes.
