Final Thoughts:

Green River Distilling Company is relaunching a historic whiskey brand that dates back to 1885. The new Green River Bourbon is set to launch later in 2021, clocking in at 4 years and 100 proof. On the noses bright candy-like sweetness emanates from the glass. Pink Starbursts and orange zest lead into more intense sweetness on the palate with cantaloupe and peaches in syrup. There is a nice balance with the addition of leather and cinnamon, which carries directly into the finish, reminding me of cinnamon baked apples. Overall, the best way to describe this whiskey, is simply to say that it is balanced from start to finish. There is just enough sweetness, fresh fruit, spice, and oak to make for an enjoyable pour, but not one flavor overpowers the others. I’m excited to see this bourbon released in a few months (so I can buy a full bottle) and to see what other products they develop.
