Final Thoughts:

Good Deeds Malt Whiskey is a blend of single malt whiskies from ten distilleries across the country to help raise funds and awareness for inclusion & diversity in the spirits industry. Each distillery donated 1 to 2 barrels of their whiskey before being expertly blended and married for an additional 5 months in barrels prior to bottling. The nose opens immediately with a wonderfully sweet fruit-forward aroma. Pear, orange peel, and roasted chestnuts make for a very welcoming start to the pour. The sweet fruit continues onto the palate with candied apple and honeycomb along with a nice rich smoke that is compliments the fruit flavors. As the whiskey finishes, a lingering baking spice and subtle smoke hang on your palate similar to what you would experience a couple hours after enjoying a cigar. As the saying goes, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. In this case that couldn’t be more accurate. Each distillery donated their whiskey, which comes from a unique set of grain, yeast strains, aging techniques, etc. to create a delicious American malt whiskey that does not disappoint. When you consider that 100% of the proceeds goes to the STEPUP organization, this is truly a win-win situation!
