Nose:

Vanilla toffee, oak, brown sugar, Werthers original candy

Red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting

Palate: 

Cinnamon, black pepper, chocolate cake, bitter lemon peel, oak, and leather. 

Finish:

Leather finish fades away leaving oak, dark chocolate and cinnamon

Final Thoughts:

As some of you may know, the ECBP releases are generally my favorite of the year, and this one is no exception. The B520 balances the dessert and cinnamon spice notes that you look for in a well-aged bourbon, without being overpowered by the high proof point. The dark oak and leather notes help balance out the sweetness, leaving you with a remarkably easy to drink whiskey at over 125 proof! At retail, I would not leave this one on the store shelf.
